The working principle and characteristics of the oil filter.

The working principle of the oil filter is to filter out impurities from the engine oil using filter paper and other filtering materials, thereby keeping the engine oil clean. A good oil filter has characteristics such as strong filtering capacity, low flow resistance, and long service life. At the same time, some oil filters are also equipped with components such as backflow prevention valves and relief valves to improve the performance and reliability of the filter.
Backflow prevention valve: When the engine is turned off, it prevents the oil filter from drying out; when the engine is restarted, it immediately generates pressure to supply oil to lubricate the engine.
Relief valve (also known as bypass valve): When the external temperature drops to a certain specific value or when the oil filter exceeds its normal service life, the relief valve opens under special pressure, allowing unfiltered oil to flow directly into the engine. Although impurities in the oil will also enter the engine, this damage is much less than the damage caused by having no oil in the engine. Therefore, the relief valve is key to protecting the engine in emergency situations.
